there once was a boy who dreamed, stuck in the darkness that once brought him peace
one day it dawned upon him, if he ever wanted to see his dream come true, he had to reach
far beyond what the eye could see, amongst the stars, he found belief

unbeknownst to him, the world was already shifting at his feet
falling through the night was the only way he could learn what it felt like to fly
letting go of all that once held him down, he met her, falling through the midnight sky

once he found his footing, the night began to die
standing on the shore of something greater, he began to feel alive
eclipsed by the night, the sun began to rise

he found himself in darkness once again, but this time the light would guide the way
no longer suffocating in the void, the fire he carried brought hope to a place once drowning in pain
while he might not know where he is headed, he now trusts the guide that is the flame

what he was searching for was never going to be found by going far away
it was within, a place he never dared to go, a place where he never wanted to stay
from searching for a sign to becoming the bearer of light
